Brandon – Cyclist dies following road traffic collision

A woman has died following a road traffic collision near Brandon.

Police were called by the ambulance service just before 10:5am, Saturday 18 October, to reports of a serious collision on the B1106, involving a black Ford Focus car and a bicycle.

Police, Suffolk Fire & Rescue, the ambulance service and air ambulance were all in attendance but despite the best efforts from medical personnel the cyclist, a woman aged in her 70s, sadly died at the scene.

The B1106 was closed between Elveden and Brandon for investigation work to be carried out, but was later re-opened.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision and who has not yet spoken to officers, or anybody who was driving in the area and who has relevant dashcam footage.
